Washington State Patrol Recovers Stolen Dodge Dakota with Help from the LoJack® System

The owners of a Dodge Dakota in Bellevue, WA discovered their truck was missing late on a recent Saturday night. The LoJack® system that had been installed when the pickup was purchased proved its worth by helping local police retrieve it quickly and safely and catch the suspected thief as well.
The theft was reported to the Bellingham Police Department on May 17th, 2014. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Dakota, which was installed at Dodge of Bellevue, WA.
Just after midnight, a Washington State trooper received the silent homing signals from the stolen truck on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The Dodge was located traveling southbound on Interstate 5 near 128th Street. A traffic stop was performed and the driver was taken into custody. The undamaged Dakota was retrieved and soon returned to its happy owner.
