The owners of a Toyota Tundra in Fresno, CA, were dismayed to discover that their truck had been stolen on a recent Monday. Because their pickup was protected with the LoJack® system when it was purchased, local police were able to recover it, damage free, later that same day.

On May 5th, 2014, the Toyota’s owner contacted the Fresno Police Department and reported that their vehicle had been stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This action automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Tundra, which was installed at Power Toyota of Buena Park, CA.

A short while later, investigators from the Fresno County HEAT Auto Theft Task Force picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen truck on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their undercover vehicles. The Toyota was located in business district near Freeway 99 and McKinley Avenue in central Fresno, parked near a motel with an adult male in the driver’s seat. The suspect was detained and later arrested. The undamaged Tundra was retrieved and soon returned to its appreciative owner.
