The owner of a Dodge Charger from Arizona took a road trip to Las Vegas and was the unfortunate victim of a medical episode while there. Five days later, he was released from the hospital but had no idea where his vehicle was. Local police, assisted by the LoJack® system installed in the Charger, were able to locate it in less than a half hour after activation.
On April 5th, 2014, the Dodge’s owner contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to report that the vehicle was missing. Officers verified the information and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit concealed in the Charger, which was installed at Avondale Dodge in Avondale, AZ, was then automatically activated.
A short while later, a detective with the Southern Nevada Auto Theft Task Force picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen car with the LoJack tracking computer installed in his vehicle. The Dodge was located in a lot on E. Flamingo Road, parked and abandoned. The undamaged Charger was recovered and soon returned to its relieved owner.
