- recovery stories
The New Orleans, LA resident in this case was attending a concert at a nightclub and parked his Ford F-250 King Ranch in a nearby grocery store lot. Four hours later, the concert was over and his truck was gone. Because his pickup was protected with the LoJack® system, local police were able to recover it that same evening.
On April 6th, 2014, the Ford’s owner reported the crime to the New Orleans Police Department. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the F-250, which was installed at LaMarque Ford in Kenner, LA.
A short while later, officers from NOPD picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen truck on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Ford was located in the Old St. Bernard area of New Orleans, where it was parked on the street and unoccupied. The truck, which was in great shape, was retrieved and soon returned to its relieved owner.
