- recovery stories
It was just after 1 AM on a recent Tuesday when the Columbus, OH residents in this case discovered their Chrysler Pacifica had been removed from their home driveway. Thanks to the efforts of local law enforcement, assisted by the LoJack® system installed inside the car, recovery took less than two hours after activation.
On April 1st, 2014, the Chrysler’s owners contacted the Columbus Police Department to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Pacifica, which was installed at Atlantic Infiniti in Jacksonville, FL.
A short while later, a Sergeant with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his cruiser. The Chrysler was found in a remote area of a residential street, parked and abandoned. After a brief surveillance, the Pacifica was retrieved and soon returned to its very happy owner.
