The LoJack® Early Warning System is an enhanced version of LoJack that, in addition to assisting police in tracking your vehicle when it’s stolen, notifies you and anyone else you choose by phone, email or text if your car, truck, van or motorcycle has been moved without its owner’s consent. In this case, a Suzuki GSX-R750 is stolen from its owner’s apartment complex in Raleigh, NC, and discovered just a couple of miles away in a very unusual location, by local law enforcement with help from LoJack.
On April 14th, 2014, the Suzuki’s owner was contacted by his bike’s LoJack Early Warning system, and discovered the motorcycle was missing. He contacted the Raleigh Police Department to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This action automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the GSX-R600, which was installed at Team Powersports in Suzuki motorcycle.
A short while later, Raleigh PD officers picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen motorcycle on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers were led to a parked and abandoned rental truck. When they opened the unlocked rear cargo door of the truck, they found the undamaged Suzuki inside. The GSX-R600 was retrieved and soon returned to its relieved owner. Investigation into the identity of the person who rented the truck is ongoing.
