It was a Friday when the Colorado residents in this case discovered their Jeep Grand Cherokee was missing. Because there was a LoJack® system installed in the SUV, local police were able to recover it the same day, and these victims were able to enjoy the rest of their weekend.
On February 7th, 2014, the Jeep’s owners contacted the Adams County Sheriff’s Office to report the incident. Deputies verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the NCIC state and federal crime computers. This action automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Grand Cherokee, which was installed at AutoNation Chrysler Jeep West in Golden, CO.
A short while later, officers with the Denver PD picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen SUV with the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers located the Jeep, parked and abandoned on North Hooker St. The Grand Cherokee was quickly retrieved and soon returned to its relieved owners.
