When the owner of a Ford Mustang in Houston, TX, stopped at a gas station/convenience store for a fill-up on a recent Thursday, he was approached by two armed men who demanded his keys. The victim complied and luckily was not hurt. The LoJack® system installed in the Mustang made this terrible incident a little less rough by helping police recover the car later that same day.
On March 20th, 2014, the Ford’s owner contacted the Houston Police Department to report the incident. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Mustang, which was installed at Champion Ford- Gulf Freeway in Houston, TX.
A short time later, a Houston PD officer picked up the homing signals coming from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The officer located the Ford as it was being parked in front of a residence. The two suspects jumped out and fled on foot. The Mustang was retrieved and soon returned to its very relieved owner.
