The LoJack® system is famous for helping police recover stolen cars, trucks, vans and motorcycles quickly and safely. This particular case involves a particularly fast retrieval- a Nissan Pathfinder stolen in Los Angeles, CA was located by law enforcement in only seven minutes after activation.
On February 5th, 2014, the Nissan’s owner reported the incident to the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department- Century Station. Deputies verified the theft and entered the SUV’s information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack transponder concealed in the vehicle, which was installed at Performance Nissan in Duarte, CA, was then automatically activated.
A short while later, deputies with LASD East LA Station then picked up the homing signals from the stolen SUV with the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The deputies discovered the Nissan traveling on South Atlantic Blvd in Cudahy. A traffic stop was initiated and the driver taken into custody. The undamaged Pathfinder was soon returned to its relieved owner.
