The owner of a 2014 Toyota Camry may have thought he was meeting the woman of his dreams at a New Year’s Eve party in Mantua, NJ, but she turned out to be more of a nightmare when he realized that his car keys were missing. Rushing outside, he found that his car and his ‘new friend’ had disappeared- but not for long, thanks to local law enforcement aided by the LoJack® system.
On December 31st, 2013, the Toyota’s owner contacted the Gloucester City Police Department to report that his vehicle had been stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This action automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Camry, which was installed at Toyota of Turnersville, NJ
Just over an hour later, a patrol officer from the Mantua PD picked up the homing signals coming from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The officer located the Toyota in a shopping mall lot where it was parked and abandoned. The Camry’s owner was thrilled to have his car returned to him in it such a short time.
