When an Acura RSX was stolen in Texas recently, the LoJack® system installed in the vehicle helped land and air branches of law enforcement facilitate a safe and speedy recovery.
On December 27th, 2013 the Acura’s owner contacted the Harris County Sheriff Department and reported that his vehicle was stolen. Deputies verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack device concealed in the RSX, which was installed at Sterling McCall Acura in Houston, TX, was then automatically activated.
A short while later, Texas State Helicopter IDAHO 11 assisted a Harris County Deputy who had picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in his patrol vehicle. The aircrew located the Acura in an apartment complex lot and directed the deputy there, where he found it parked and abandoned. After a short surveillance, the RSX was retrieved and soon returned to its appreciative owner.
