Like most people, the owner of this 2014 Audi A4 had the LoJack® system installed when he bought the car ‘just in case’. In this instance, ‘just in case’ turned out to be just two months later, when the vehicle was stolen from his workplace parking lot in Seattle, WA. With LoJack’s help, local law enforcement recovered the A4 in just over two and a half hours after activation.
When the Audi was discovered missing on December 20th, 2014, it was reported to the Seattle Police Department. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle identification number into the state and federal crime computers. That process automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the A4, which was installed at University Audi, in Seattle, WA.
Just over two hours later, a Washington State Patrol trooper received the homing signal transmitting from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The trooper located the Audi near Fairview Avenue North and Thomas Street, where it was parked and abandoned. The undamaged A4, valued at $45,000, was soon returned to its relieved owner.
