After a Dallas, TX host had a party one Thursday afternoon, he noticed that, along with his guests, his car keys and Honda Pilot were gone. What the thief didn’t know is that there was a ‘hidden guest’ in the vehicle itself- the LoJack® system, which helped local police recover the SUV in less than three hours after activation.
On December 12th, 2013, the Honda’s owner contacted the Dallas Police and made a report. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit concealed in the Pilot, which was installed at Goodson Honda in Houston, TX, was then automatically activated.
A short while later, officers from the Dallas PD picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers found the Honda traveling northbound on South Lancaster Road. Officers performed a traffic stop and arrested the driver. The Pilot was soon returned to its thankful owner.
