On July 28, 2012, the owners of a 2007 Chrysler 300 were shocked to discover that their vehicle had been stolen, and called the Denver Police Department to report the theft. Denver officers verified the theft and entered the Chrysler’s information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the vehicle.
A short while later, officers with the Lakewood Police Department picked up the silent LoJack homing signals from the stolen vehicle with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTCs) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. The LoJack PTC provides officers with on-board information which enables them to locate the stolen vehicle quickly and with an increased margin of safety.
Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack PTCs, the officers tracked the vehicle to the 400 block of Wright Street, where the vehicle was safely recovered and returned to the very happy owners.
The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in this Chrysler in May 2009 at Colorado Chrysler Jeep.
